In the continuous production of modern industry, flanges are inevitably affected by factors such as medium corrosion, erosion, temperature, pressure, and vibration, leading to leakage problems. Due to errors in the machining dimensions of the sealing surface, aging of sealing components, and improper installation and tightening, flange leakage is easily caused. If the flange leakage problem cannot be addressed in a timely manner, it will rapidly expand under the scouring of the medium, causing material loss, damage to the production environment, and leading to the shutdown of the enterprise, resulting in huge economic losses. If it is a leakage of toxic, harmful, flammable and explosive media, it may also cause major accidents such as personnel poisoning, fire and explosion.
The traditional method to solve flange leakage is to replace sealing components, apply sealant, or replace flanges and pipelines. However, this method has significant limitations, and some leaks are limited by the safety requirements of the working environment, which cannot be solved on-site. Polymer composite materials can now be used for on-site plugging, with a relatively mature system such as Fushi Blue being used. It is an ideal method, especially in flammable and explosive situations, demonstrating its unique advantages. The construction process of polymer composite material technology is simple, safe, and low-cost, which can solve most of the flange leakage problems for enterprises, eliminate safety hazards, and save more maintenance costs for enterprises.
